Ken Rudee

Ken Rudee is the Owner and Director of Tea at Barnes & Watson Fine Teas®. The company specializes in providing premium hot and iced teas to prominent hospitality and foodservice clients and has been awarded fifteen World Tea Championship awards from 2005-2009.  Barnes & Watson consults with diverse organizations (including world renowned retailers, some of the world’s largest coffee companies, top US culinary schools, and AAA Five Diamond Hotels) to successfully integrate premium tea into their operations. Ken also has professional training from the Culinary Institute of America and is a CPA (inactive).
 
Ken is an active member of the specialty tea industry throughout the United States.  He is a founding member and is currently Chairman of the board of directors of the Specialty Tea Institute (STI) and is a Director of the Tea Association of the USA.  Ken also is a STI Certified Tea Instructor and is a member of  STI’s Tea Professional Certification Committee.  He is also a founding member and President of the Puget Sound Tea Education Alliance (PStea) and was the co-chair of the inaugural Northwest Tea Festival to held in Oct. 2008.  Ken has lead tea classes in the areas of history, production, blending, equipment and recipe development for the World Tea Expo, STI, nationally renowned culinary schools, five-star hotels, restaurants (including the Herb Farm) and various other organizations.
