Shiuwen Tai is the owner of Floating Leaves Tea, located in Seattle, WA. Shiuwen grew up in Taiwan where she was connected to tea at a very young age. Here in Seattle, she has dedicated herself and her teahouse to bringing the tea knowledge and premium quality teas directly from the tea growing regions. She goes back to her homeland of Taiwan every year to  source and learn more about tea and tea culture.

At the tea festival, in the larger presentation hall she will walk you through how to judge Oolong tea quality. She will be sharing some tips from the tea fragrance, the leaves' appearances, the taste, and mouth feel to discuss a tea's quality  In the tea tasting booths she will demonstrate how to brew tea using a gaiwan.  She will also talk about why one chooses to brew tea in this style and how the teas taste differently compared to the tea brewed in a larger pot.
