Belonging: Creating Inclusive & Accessible Tea Spaces
Suzette will join us in this virtual session from Chicago.
Belonging is more than acceptance in a space; it’s having a space designed with you in mind.
Tea has thousands of years of history rooted in hospitality, kindness, and treating guests as equals. In today’s world, people are not treated equally.
There is a correctness or normative bias that is explicit, built into all of our systems, including tea as an industry.
In this interactive session, we’ll explore:
- What makes an accessible and inclusive tea gathering
- Ways to cultivate equity in our tea community spaces and experiences
- The importance of language in how we connect through tea
