Green Tea Grades

Tea quality lies on a spectrum. As an agricultural product, there is great variance in tea quality based on many factors: harvest timing, cultivar, elevation, growing area, farmers’ skill, and processing, to name a few. Higher quality, as determined by tea professionals, is indicative of a higher grade of tea. This tasting will A/B several Japanese green teas (sencha, gyokuro, and matcha) to help attendees identify the qualities that characterize a higher-grade tea from a lower-grade tea.
