Nigel Melican has 38 years’ experience in the tea industry both as a product developer and tea trouble-shooter with Unilever and, since 1990 as owner of his tea consultancy company Teacraft, and his specialty tea e-commerce company Nothing But Tea Ltd.
Nigel’s tea technology expertise has assisted industry clients in 29 countries. He is equally at home assisting production in a 3,000 ton a year CTC factory or mentoring a 3 lbs a day artisan specialty tea maker.
His particular interest nowadays is planting tea in non-traditional countries and assisting small farmers with better techniques for hand-made tea production and marketing - encouraging the use of sustainable tea growing and manufacturing methods.
He is also President of the newly formed specialty tea oriented European Tea Society
