Explore the historical origins of indigenous tribal teas of India who came from Yunnan and Mayanmar. These teas, further influenced by British colonization and rise of commodity tea are changing again. Small Indian tea farmers are producing innovative loose whole leaf. This increase in small tea farms and farmers is also bringing an end to an era of low wages and poor treatment of tea pluckers. Attendees will have the opportunity of tasting historical Phalap and Khalap teas as well as some of these new teas.
